| Simply enter Cardwell’s at the Plaza and you’ll be greeted by the aroma of the wood-burning oven and the spirit of good company. Describing Bill Cardwell’s style is like describing your favorite chair (or maybe your favorite piece of art). Warm, comfortable, distinctive and yet still refined. Think of a neighborhood bistro with the elegance and attention to detail of fine dining. At our core, we love what the right restaurant experience can do to enhance the human spirit and turn the ritual of “going out to eat” into a celebration of good food and good living.
A distinct American spirit is applied to all of our dishes, and we continuously offer our guests surprises with both preparation and presentation. With a special devotion to local, seasonal ingredients, our carefully crafted menu boasts the heart of comfort food and the flair of culinary innovation. We believe in ample portions, hearty flavors and lively table conversation. Our menu changes daily to offer guest the season’s best flavors and freshest ingredients. The hand selected artwork throughout the entire restaurant reflects our taste for splendid food, diverse people and fond memories. Come for the food, and return for the experience.
Since our opening in 1994 we are proud to be considered one of St. Louis’s premier restaurants. Featured in more than a dozen publications, we’re honored and humbled by the rave reviews we’ve received in reader’s polls and by food critics locally and across the country.
