Sauce is currently seeking a full-time and part-time Advertising Account executives experienced in media sales.
The right individual will help clients grow their business while working from a home and in the home office.
Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, independent-minded sales people who can help build a successful brand and build relationships with clients.
Prospect and discover new clients and create new sources of revenue
Build relationships quickly with new and existing clients that will allow us to serve them better
Maintain and grow revenue from existing clients
Assist in developing and implementing creative sales strategies
Build strategic alliances with both new and existing clients to increase revenue
Contact with customers via in-person interaction, telephone and written correspondence via mail and email Travel to visit clients and make proposals, as needed
Prior media sales training & sales experience

The ideal candidate is a passionate food journalist with excellent interviewing, reporting and writing skills, a creative and inquisitive culinary mind and an engaging writing style. The candidate must be able to write both long-form magazine features and shorter news items with equal attention to accuracy. The staff writer must be able to manage multiple projects on long-term and short-term deadlines and be fluent in Associated Press style. At least one year freelance or full-time writing experience preferred.
Primary objectives: The staff writer will work as part of the editorial team to produce engaging, informative and creative print and online content for Sauce Magazine.
Roles and responsibilities:
Pitch story ideas for both print and online content and participate in regular editorial meetings to plan for upcoming issues
Interview and write regular front of book print columns and features as assigned
Fact-check print content as assigned
Collect and curate events for monthly inclusion in Stuff to Do calendar and weekly inclusion in online newsletter

The ideal candidate will have excellent creative, line editing and writing skills, detailed organization and management skills, a passion for food, and 5+ years of editing/publishing experience (magazine style preferred), as well as a strong culinary knowledge (culinary school or professional cooking experience, food publishing is a plus). Primary Objectives: To oversee the day-to-day operations of the editorial department of Sauce Magazine and to direct editorial content of its media entities, Print and Digital.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Ensures that editorial is in line with its mission, reflects the voice of the magazines brand and aligns with the targeted readership.
Oversee the production of editorial content from idea generation to press, in print magazine, ancillary products and online. Ensures magazine releases on time and is of top quality and error free.
Lead creative meetings
Serves as end-all on stories that run: decision making on story direction
Oversee editorial budget management
Oversee creation of and maintenance of production and content schedules
Assign/manage key stories (The List, Ones to Watch, feature stories)
Oversees key photo shoots (covers)
Approve changes to in-house style guide
Work with Publisher on ancillary products, from feasibility to content direction
Oversee/assist in creation of new forms of content such as new sections, themed issues or e-blasts
Ensure any client issues are handled in relation to editorial
Informs and updates Publisher weekly on status of editorial department
Oversee editorial staff, including all editorial and art teams
Meet with staffers regularly for feedback/updates
Evaluate staffer performance in annual reviews
Hire, coach and terminate staffers as needed
Maintain relationships with key freelancers
Problem-solve any inter-departmental workflow or staffing issues with Publisher

Advertising Production Designer

Job functions revolve around the print issues and monthly online advertising related workflows.
This person will work a 25-35 hour work week and handle banner ad production and creation and handling layout of ads and other day to day operations required within the production department.
In conjunction with the Art Director and Advertising Sales Manager, the Advertising Production Designer will perform the following established job tasks, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- E-mail template production
- Perform all desktop functions for the creation and manipulation of ads using Adobe CS3
- Material handling: preflight and proof
- Prepare ad layouts for print issues
- Upload of print advertising materials
- Work with both internal and outside customers/ sales staff.
- Perform other tasks as requested by production staff and/ or Advertising Director
