Fine
Spanish Wine
(subject to change)
The
wines on this page may not be as familiar as Chardonnay and
Merlot, but to us, they represent the finest wines on Planet
Earth for your hard earned dollar. Grapes such as Garnacha,
Tempranillo, Albariño and Viura are becoming well
known to discerning consumers.
This
selection, covering the major wine styles of Spain, is full
of complexity, warmth, and joy, just like the Spanish people.
Sip a glass into the wee hours and please feel free to ask
for recommendations. We love to pair these wines with our
Spanish cuisine.
Cavas

Priorat y Monsant: Spain’s greatest reds may some day be made in these regions where the craggy soil of the mountains is home to steep terraced vineyards. Very old vine Garnacha and Carinena combine with newer plantings of Merlot, Cab, and Syrah to make riveting wines with huge fruit and subtle spice.

Viña Mayor Tinto Roble 2006 gl 8 btl 32
Rioja: The most highly regarded region in Spain. Rioja, made principally from Tempranillo, is a very complex wine with the texture and complexity of Bordeaux but with a dustiness and earthy character all its own. Traditionally served with lamb, this style of wine pairs well with any red meat.

Ostatu Crianza 2004
The 2004 harvest was an excellent one in the Rioja region. A combination of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano adds complexity and rich flavor. The Ostatu is fermented initially in stainless steel, and then aged in 70% French and 30% American oak for a total of twelve months. Glass: 10 Bottle: 40
