Recently had dinner at Niche on a Saturday night. Overall, a very good experience. I built my own four course meal that was highligted by the foie gras and pineapple dish and the Mathew's amazing desserts. The carrot cake dessert was especially good. Great service and wine. Niche is still performing at a high level and I look forward to returning.

We did the 5 course chef tasting menu with wine pairing and it was phenomenal. The scallops were done in the most delicious and original way, salad, lamb,etc...all done perfectly. Each wine pairing was also generous enough and well matched. We had read prior reviews of small portions and too expensive, and while certainly not cheap, we left feeling perfectly full. The food was really good. I had the Greek yogurt pudding for dessert and I usually don't like yogurt desserts but this one was amazing! Enjoyed the ambiance and the service...only thing that spoiled the evening was the hostess, who was a bit rude. True, it was a busy Saturday night and we did sit at our table for a long time, but she could have been more discreet with the nasty looks she kept giving us.

After hearing such wonderful acclaim, my boyfriend and I were extremely excited to try Niche. Chef's creativeness and preparation of the ingredients were great. My problem is the saltiness of almost every dish. The pork cheeks with the peaches were prepared fabulously but the reduction that accompanied it was so very overwhelming with the salt. The olive tapenade with my boyfriend's tagliatelle was so harsh and briny, it hurt the back of my throat to eat. Our entrees again way too salty.
